To Hug Or Not To Hug
Love that is unconditional
and affection that is abundant are the perfect antidote for hatred that is
irrational and mind that is vengeful. We appear to have forgotten the art of
forgetting. It appears to have disappeared, forgetting, that is! To forgive is
divine. To forget is bliss. Strangely, we remember everything we ought to forget.
Our mind is in pieces in its search for peace because the path chosen to achieve
it is one of conflict and confront as opposed to ‘forgive and forget’.
Our reluctance to
respect contrary views, accept persons the way they are leads to a ‘conflicting
and confronting’ mind. Is our mind understanding and empathetic? Or is it one
of conflict and confrontation? We are weighed down by having to constantly
contend with this duality of mind. Every effort to hug the principle of ‘forgive
and forget’ is thwarted by this destructive dilemma of duality of mind.
We forget to remember
that our mind is our own enemy. It is within us. The ego in us is a disruptive
force. Enveloped by infinite ego, our mind is less inclined to embrace
humility. Ego takes precedence over logic and reason. Our mind is a master of
justification regardless of the long-term ramifications. In the life of mathematics,
simultaneous equation is a playful joy. Simultaneous equation of mind and life
in reality is no longer a joy. It is a mystery.
Regardless of these
conflicting contradictions, let’s remove the dilemma of duality of mind which
is the fountainhead of sorrow and pain. Let go. Live and let live by shortening
the shelf life of ‘self’. Let’s not lose
even a ‘wink’ of sleep and ‘hug’ life with abundant affection and unconditional
love on our way to discover the eternal inner peace through ‘forgive and forget’.
