Bond With The Best
Funny and Punny were strolling along on a chilly
evening when they spotted a ‘casino’.
Both felt that they should enjoy the ‘royal’
atmosphere. Sipping their choice martini – shaken but not stirred – the
prospect of facing the spectacle of a ‘spectre’
sent a chill up their spine. Looking at the ‘sky’,
they saw the snow ‘fall’. With
blazing flashes of the lights around, everyone dancing to the blaring music,
F&P soaked up the evening on the assumption that they had the ‘licence’ to thrill and not ‘to kill’. With all ‘the thunder’, they had a ‘ball’!
They were well aware of ‘the spy who loved wo’me’n!
Funny noted that the spy had a ‘golden-eye’.
Yes, they are ‘for your eyes only’,
replied Punny.
F&P couldn’t resist trying their luck with the
Russian roulette. With perfect positioning, they thought they had a perfect ‘view to a kill’. They were in for a
shock losing the first few rounds. Undaunted, they went ahead. Their gamble paid
off as they won a ‘quantum of’ money
which was a ‘solace’.
Funny was getting tired of being on ‘a secret service’ what with the orders
of ‘her majesty’ and hinted of
tendering his resignation. ‘Never say’
that, pleaded Punny. To which Funny agreed and replied, ‘never again’.
One lazy afternoon, F&P received a letter ‘from Russia’ with a superscription ‘with love’!
To Punny, ‘money and penny’ went together what with
the ever romantic Miss Moneypenny. While F&P relaxed which was very rare,
they reflected and recounted the famous one-liners from ‘Q’. One such was:
‘James, i told you to bring it one piece, not one piece’, looking at the bashed
up AstonMartin!
The orders from ‘M’ were always terse: Watch out for
‘the man with the golden gun’, take ‘the living daylights’ out of him. And
always ended with a philosophical note: ‘come back alive’.
Funny said, ‘our mission is to protect the ‘diamonds’ after which they ‘are forever’. At that particular
moment, a ‘Doctor’ appears from ‘no’where shouting, ‘No’, it’s the ‘gold’
they are after. Don’t allow them to so much as put their ‘finger’ in it.
After all this high drama, F&P watched a
procession carrying a coffin, singing loudly ‘live and let die’. It was a very scary sight, people brandishing
snakes, lizards, ‘octopus’ as well.
The night was lit up by ‘moon’ as F&P ‘rake’d
their head over their next assignment. They knew that they would live only
once, but strangely enough they found their enemy saying ‘you only live twice’. It staggered them to know that they might ‘die another day’. When would that be?
Tomorrow? No chance, noted F, ‘tomorrow
never dies’
They are greedy, Funny, said Punny. To them, ‘world is not enough’. Let’s wait for ‘there is no time to die’.
As F&P wound up for the day, they heard a
surround sound: My name is Bond, James Bond!
